5 Smart Features of Aprvtio ALD100

Higher Sensitivity, Longer Probe】14 inches flexible probe shaft with 3 alternative sensor tips. 7 adjustable sensitivities with the max sensitivity of 0.11oz/yr.

18 levels of Alarm Indications】The Electronic Refrigerant Leak Detector features 18 alarm levels from low to high to help you home in on a leak. The alarm level will increase as the leak is being approached.

Fast Response】Once the power button is pressed, the detector will be ready to use.Response in 3 seconds; Warm up in 6 seconds. Reset in 2 seconds. Powered by: 2 C Alkaline batteries(included)

Reset Function】Features a reset function that will set the tester to ignore the ambient or baseline level of halogenated refrigerants in the atmosphere. This allows you to identify leaks without the false positives of the background concentration.

Detecting All Halogenated Gases】It can detect all kinds of halogen refrigerants including CFCs, HFCs, HCFCs, HCs, HFOs and Blends. Detect SF-6 in high voltage circuit breakers. Detect most gases which contain Chlorine, Fluorine or Bromine (the halogen gases).Detect cleaning agents used in dry cleaning, such as perchloroethyl.

Other Information You Want to Know About ALD100

Featuring 7 sensitivity and 18 alarm levels, Aprvtio ALD-100 electronic refrigerant leak detector recognizes most gases that contain chlorine, fluorine or bromine - also known as halogen gases. The internal microprocessor identifies extremely small concentrations of halogen gases in refrigeration systems, dry cleaning systems, and high voltage circuit breakers. The detector comes with a 14 in. flexible probe, two sensing tips, aluminum case and two C-batteries.

2. Other Unique Features of Aprvtio ALD100 Refrigerant Leak Detectors

Battery Level Indicator

  • Green: good.
  • Orange: low.
  • Red: need to replace the battery.

If the batteries are dead or not installed, the LED will not light at all. If the batteries are not fully charged or properly installed, performance may be affected and readings might not be accurate.

Reset Function/ Automatic Circuit

If a full alarm is indicated before you have found the source of the leak, you can reset the detector to zero by pressing the reset key. This will allow you to find progressively greater concentrations, and eventually find the source of the leak.

3 Replacement Sensors

This tester will detect most gases which contain Chlorine, Fluorine or Bromine (the halogen gases). Microprocessor driven, this leak detector will identify halogenated refrigerants in concentrations as small as 3 Gr. per Yr. The microprocessor samples the halogen concentration and battery voltage level continuously, resulting in a very stable and reliable real time readout.

2C Batteries

Power supply: 2C Alkaline batteries (included in the package)

1. To install batteries, remove the battery compartment door which is at the bottom of the case by sliding it up.

2. Install two “C” batteries with both positive polarity toward the battery compartment door.

3. Simple Using Steps of ALD100 Leak Detectors

1. Turn on the device by pressing the ON button. The display will show the indication for 3 seconds.

Ensure the battery level is good.

  2. A continuous beep tone will indicate the unit is normally functioning. Press the arrow up or down button to change the sensitivity.
 3. When a leak is located, the beep tone will change to a siren tone. Also, you will see the LED display the alarm.
  4. Reset key will allow you to find progressively greater concentrations, and eventually find the source of the leak.

Finally found the leak.

I had a leak hat I have tried to find for a couple years in my old SUV I use for kayak shuttling.

It is easy to use without getting frustrated, accurate,, sensitive.
I found the leak quickly. Does its job perfectly and exactly as advertised.
Could be a bit smaller.

Definitely worth buying especially for $59.99

Great for solving refrigeration mysteries

Was easy to use to localize the leak in my 12v refrigeration system. As mentioned by others, the unit is so sensitive it can give you false readings but you'll know when you find the actual source of the leak rather than just residual stuff.

Great tool to help locate even tiny freon/refrigerant leaks. Pays for itself in one use.

I used this tool to track down a small refrigerant leak in my old (96) Ford F350. The AC worked fine, but over time, usually about a year or so, it would not cool as well as it should. I checked everything else and figured it had to be a leak. I dreaded paying a shop $$ to fix it, so I got this sensor and tracked it down in no time. This tool is fairly well made, but you can tell it's not a $1000 tool like a pro mechanic might buy off of the tool truck. Once you get the included C batteries installed, it is ready to go, just push the ON button. The sensor has a beep beep beep sound that changes frequency as it "smells" more refrigerant. So it starts out with a slow beep.................beep, but moves to beep....beep....beep...beep the closer you get the tip of the wand to the source of the leak. Very easy to use and intuitive. This tool can easily pay for itself in one use- you would have to pay a shop AT LEAST $100 or more just to find a leak in your AC system, so even if you don't end up fixing it yourself, at least you can find it.

It works!

Used this to help find my parents ac leak in their van. It was super easy to use and found the leak within a couple of minutes. The only suggestion I could make is if they could make it a little smaller and maybe throw in a case for it. Other than that it works perfectly.

Refrigerant Leak Detector

I ordered this to test the AC on our truck. At first, I thought it didn't work since it wasn't picking up anything, so I called my neighbor over who works on the car, and he helped me understand the unit was working it was my car that had no freon at all. That said, he was impressed with the unit.
